Effect of Attachment Anxiety on Relationship Addiction: Mediated Effect of Rejection Sensitivity and Emotion Dysregulation

|
The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of rejection sensitivity and emotion dysregulation in the relationship between attachment anxiety and relationship addiction. Data were collected from a sample of 407 adults who completed the questionnaire survey. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). First, there was a significant effect of attachment anxiety on relationship addiction. Second, attachment anxiety had an no significant effect on rejection sensitivity. Third, the relationship between attachment anxiety and relationship addiction was mediated through emotion dysregulation. Fourth, the effect of attachment anxiety on relationship addiction was mediated through rejection sensitivity and emotion dysregulation. The significance and limitations of the study were discussed.
